Professor Enrique Cabello, head of FRAV, has been interviewed in "Vanguardia Tecnológica" ("Technological Avant-Garde") in Radio Universo FM. This is a program for the popularization of daily science and technology, produced by the Institute for the Innovation and Technological Development of Colima University, Mexico. Professor Cabello has talked to Ricardo and Gerardo Fuentes Covarrubias about FRAV and our goals as a research group, and has also pointed out some of the structural differences between Spanish and Mexican universities. He has finally presented CABINTEC Project , in which FRAV takes part, about a smart cabin for road transport, endowed with the state-of-the-art computer-vision technologies devoted to road safety.

FRAV Research Group has increased 50%, from four up to six members. As a part of CABINTEC Project  (Intelligent Cabin for Road Transport), Alicia Ballesteros Calvo and Víctor López Lorenzo have joined FRAV as hired researchers.

Alicia Ballesteros is a technical engineer in Business Computer Science by the Polytechnical University of Madrid and is currently studying a Master on Graphics Computer Science, Games and Virtual Reality at the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos. Her professional experience includes a period working in Acciona in Augmented Reality topics.

On the other hand, Víctor López is an engineer in Telecommunication by the University of Cantabria and is currently working in his PhD in Computer Science by the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos. He has worked as a researcher in different projects at the University of Cantabria and Universidad Rey Juan Carlos and has been responsible of the telematics services in Citroën Spain.

The complete FRAV group is attending the COST Action 358 Meeting to be held in La Nau Building of the University of Valencia from 23 to 24 October 2007. This action corresponds to an EU-financed project called Pedestrians' Quality Needs .

As well FRAV is attending the 20th ICTCT  Conference, "Towards future traffic safety research - Tendencies in Traffic Safety", to be held at the Prince Felipe Science Museum of Valencia (City of Arts and Sciences) from 25 to 26 October 2007. Professor Isaac Martín will give an oral presentation called "Pedestrians' Quality Needs: Some data of a mid-size town". This conference has been organized by the University of Valencia, Universidad Rey Juan Carlos and the Professional Association of Psychologists of the Valencian Region, among other collaborators.

From today and for a month the Mexican researcher Gerardo Reyes Salgado will be visiting FRAV. Reyes is the academical subdirector of the National Centre of Research and Technological Development (CENIDET) of Cuernavaca, in the state of Morelos (Mexico). He obtained his Ph.D. in Cognitive Sciences in the Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble (France) in 2001, and works in topics related with artificial intelligence, cognitive sciences, artificial neural networks, neuro-symbolic hybrid systems, automatic learning and intelligent agents. He has come to Spain to collaborate with FRAV, as well as to give several seminars at the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos about his research work.
