Tetyana Baydyk was born in March 1954. She obtained the Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering in 1977 by the Kiev Polytechnic Institute (Ukraine), and a PhD in control systems for mobile robots by the Institute of Cybernetics of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences in 1983.

From 1977 to 1995 she worked at the Institute of Cybernetics of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences. Since 1980 she was junior researcher and in 1990 she was middle researcher. In 1992 she worked in Japan with an international group for the construction of the B-512 neurocomputer. In 1994 she received the PhD (D.Sci.) in the area of neural networks by the Institute of Cybernetics of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences. Between 1995 and 1999 she coordinated the International Program for Education and Science in Ukraine for the International Renaissance Foundation. In 1998 she collaborated as a principal investigator at the UNESCO/IIP International Research and Training Centre of Information Technologies and Systems. From 2001 to 2007 she as researcher type "A", and from 2008 to 2012 she was researcher type "B", and since 2012 she is type "C" at CCADET - UNAM, Mexico.

Dr Baydyk has published around 120 scientific works, she is author and co-author of 3 books, 3 patents, 2 copyrights and editor of 8 books. She participated in international projects: INTAS, ISF, NSF-CONACYT.

Dr Baydyk chose the FRAV research group of Universidad Rey Juan Carlos to take a sabbatical from June to November 2012.

Research interests

Neural networks, image recognition, control systems and applications to mechatronics.
